As the oldest and most well-known dermatology clinic of Istanbul, our department provides basic, postgraduate and continuing medical education, alongside severel ongoing scientific investigations and research. Veneral and Dermatological diseases are diagnosed and treated in our clinic, with the aid of advanced technological facilities and laboratory support.
In addition to our general outpatient clinic, we also offer several outpatient clinics that are focused on specific, disease-oriented care, including Behçet, psoriasis, bullous, allergy, veneral diseases, mycosis fungoides, cosmetology and nevi clinics. We also oversee our inpatient ward, which cares for up to 22 patients.
Our department is a major referral center for hospitals and clinics throughout Istanbul and Türkiye.

General Information:
The dermatology department is located in the old historic building that is situated on the left-hand side of Istanbul University's (Çapa) main hospital entrance.
The Department's secretary and professor offices are found inside the main entrance to the building.
Working hours are between 08:00-16:00. Some of the specialized clinics, treatment units and general clinics are located on the basement floor.
On the first floor, the inpatient service, resident room, surgical unit, seminar room and library are located.

FOR STUDENTS
Aim:
During the dermatology rotation, lectures and exercises will cover basic subjects such as skin structure, skin diseases, diagnostic procedures, veneral diseases, dermatological manifestations of systemic disease and their treatments.
Learning Objectives
Learning skin structure,
Identifiying elementary lesions,
Examining a patient with dermatological findings,
Learning dermatophytic, parasitic, viral and bacterial diseases of the skin,
Becoming familiar with skin tuberculosis and leprosy,
Learning venereal diseases,
Being able to list bullous, papular and eczematous diseases of the skin,
Diagnostic, treatment and preventive methods in relation with commonly seen
pathologies, such as urticaria, drug reactions, diseases of pigmentation and diseases of sebaceous glands such such as acne and seborrheic dermatitis,
Hair-nail-oral mucosa diseases,
Being able to form a differential diagnosis of lesions in the genital region Listing dermatological manifestations of systemic diseases,
Vasculitis,
Tumoral diseases of the skin,
Topical and systemic treatments in dermatology.
